Google Strict Penalty On Blogs That Allow Guest Posts

Google Strict Penalty On Blogs
Thousands of article directories (ezinearticles, articlesbase, and others) got hurt by Google’s Panda Update in 2013, I guess that Google will penalize blogs and websites abusing guest blogging in 2013. If you are a blogger or guest author then you should read this post carefully for your own benefit. You can read my previous article here to know the importance of guest blogging.

I don’t feel guest blogging is time waste. Google will not penalize best bloggers (quality content providers). SEOMOZ.org is very popular website, allows guest blogging and their overall rankings increased during the Google's Panda update in 2012-2013. If SEO companies ignore link building policies, Definitely Google will give punishment them.

How To Know About Upcoming Updates?

Watch Matt Cutts video about "What is Google's view on guest blogging for links"?

Best Way To Allow Guest Blog Posts?

1. Use Regular Titles For Guest Post - There is no need to telling people it’s a guest post. Please do not use words like: “guest post” “guest blog by” “guest author” etc in your blog post title.

Guest blogging is perfect way to increase your blog's popularity, but if you wouldn't trust an article in the newspaper that says the writer is a “guest writer” do you ever think Google will trust it?

So, I suggest you install and activate an author bio plugin for your Wp blog or create your own if you're using Blogspot so readers can easily connect with the authors on your blog. A normal author bio section (end of post) looks like this:

A basic author bio section

Give Google+ link to author's profile in author bio. You can see example here:

<a href=”https://plus.google.com/(Profile ID)?rel=”author”>Google+</a>

If Gireesh of Core Blogging posted on my blog and Google could identify that it was actually Gireesh? Do you think Google would trust me higher if I am associated with Gireesh? Yes. Google’s Co-Citation Algo is already in full motion, so code properly.

Provide Author Bios For Every Author

Google Panda Update loves good quality and unique content and Google Penguin Update loves natural links. So, provide correct author bios for each author.
  • Provide short bio of author with social profile links on author bio page.
  • Always use rel=”author” on each blog post when you say “By [author name]” and in the author bio section.

Give Natural Outbound Links In The Article

Always try to share natural outbound link in your blog post. If you're providing useful link for readers then Google will increase rankings of your blog post. You can allow relevant DoFollow links in your blog post. It is not bad idea to allow contributing authors to add natural links to posts. Google only want you to ensure the content and links are relevant. Natural outbound links are like chocolate for your blog.

Accept Comments From Real People Only

Google don't want anything fake on your blog. Real authors are writing for your blog. So, always allow real people to comment on your blog. Quality comments and amount of them will increase your blog post popularity in search engines.
